The West Wing wasn't on today at 9pm EST. I was very frustrated because I love that show! Oh well, I hope they will televise this episode next week!

I downloaded nmap 3.48 today. I haven't played with it much yet, but the interface looks almost identical to 3.0. I downloaded the source code, configured, and compiled it. It sort of fun to download the source code. Long live Open Source Software!!!

The new ER wasn't shown today either. NBC says all new shows will air next week. I hope they are right. I miss my shows :-)

Nothing new or exciting happened today. I guess there's not much to blog today! Well, actually I downloaded this cool game called America's Army.

I slept most of the day today.

Turkey Day, November 27, 2003

I installed kernel 2.6.test11 today on my Debian distro. I still have to configure it to my liking, but the compilation and installation are a lot easier and cleaner. I'll type more as I play with the new kernel. Happy Turkey Day everybody!

After installing kernel 2.6.0-test11, the wheel on my scroll mouse quit working under X. To fix the problem, I changed the protocol under the mouse section of XF86Config file to IMPS/2 instead of auto. I restarted the X server, and everything works now!

Evolution email suite does not send emails under slackware 9.1. To fix the problem, I edited the hosts file, located at /etc directory, and removed all the blank and commented out lines. I am able to send and receive email now without any problem, thank goodness!

To load modules automatically when you boot slackware 9.1, modify the /etc/rc.d/rc.modules files. To load a module, use /bin/modprobe module_name.
